Hitofude Cardigan ClassHitofude Cardigan Class

As implied by the name "Hitofude" meaning a single brush stroke in Japanese, this open front cardigan with an allover lace pattern is worked in one "yarn stroke" - a continuous strand without cutting the yarn
The yarn stroke starts from the upper body and sleeves worked together in a rectangular piece, then moves to lower body where the lace pattern increases evenly, creating a gentle drape.  This class will meet on the third Monday each month.

Dates:  Begins Jan. 15, and the third Monday each month
Time :  11am - 1pm
Fee:  $35.00

Floral Collage ClassFloral Collage

Do you admire those floral character quilts?  Want to be a bit more creative than simply following someone else's designs?  This might be the class for you.  Look through your photos and find a picture you would like to produce as a floral quilt.  You might consider photos from your travels, perhaps a piece of furniture you like, or even a person (that one would be very difficult!) - perhaps a house you have lived in, or another that has special interest to you.  You might also find a coloring book and use that.  In this one day class, you will learn how to create your own unique quilt, using floral fabrics.

Stash Busters

We all have fabric we want to use up.    We love to go to the quilt shop, and every time we do, something jumps out at us and says "Buy me!!!"  and so we do.  When we get home, we remember how our shelves are overflowing without room for much more.  We love to buy the new fabrics, but are having an increasingly difficult time doing so because of our bursting shelves!  If this describes you (it describes us!), then we have just the solution!!!

Beginning in January, Silver Thimble is offering you some help with this problem.  We are starting a "Stash Busters" group.  Here is how it will work.  Sign up for Stash Busters!  Cost is $40 per year.  Stop in during January and get your first pattern.

Bring your finished (we don't need more UFOs!) quilt back to the shop by the end of March and get entered into a drawing, (we will also have a small gift for just finishing your quilt).  Pick up a new pattern in April, finish it by end of June, pick up a new pattern in July and finish in September, and pick up in October and finish in December.  There is no need to purchase new fabric.  We strongly urge you to pull from your stash.  There is no rule against purchasing new fabric, however.  Sometimes a packet of old fabrics are really refreshed by the addition of 1-2 new ones.

In December 2018, we will have a "reveal" party where you can bring your quilts, show them off, and participate in prize drawings.  All patterns are included with your entrance fee.  During the year, we will complete 4 quilts. So, sign up and let's get started!

UFO Club

A Dozen Dishies!
